LaGuardia Airport

IATA: LGA, ICAO: KLGA, FAA LID: LGA

LaGuardia Airport, also known as LGA, has a rich history that dates back to the 1920s. The airport was originally named Glenn H. Curtiss Airport, in honor of the pioneering aviator, and was later renamed North Beach Airport. It was not until 1953 that the airport was renamed LaGuardia Airport, in honor of the former mayor of New York City, Fiorello H. LaGuardia. Over the years, the airport has undergone several expansions and renovations, including the construction of new terminals and parking facilities. Today, LaGuardia Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States, serving millions of passengers annually and handling flights to and from destinations across the country and around the world. Despite its popularity, the airport has faced some challenges in recent years, including aging infrastructure and capacity constraints, leading to ongoing efforts to modernize and upgrade the airport.
